These wintery wonderland bridals are what every photographers dreams are made of! Lauren and Ryan were so awesome, her with her winter boots and him with nothing but his slick dress shoes and handwarmers in each hand endured 17 degree temps for a wanderlust filled Saturday afternoon in December. I love brides who are as adventurous as me!!
Little Graham was such a dream, I just love photographing newborns especially when they are the first for a family, like the darling Esplins! Nothing sweeter than seeing a set of wide-eyed sleep deprived parents so insanely obsessed and full of love for their new addition. Such a beautiful thing. But I have to say, these two must not be too sleep deprived because they looked wayyyyy to good. Much better than I ever do right after my babies are born! And yes, I threw in a crying picture at the end because while I certainly don't like when babies are sad, their ability to completely melt their face into ultimate desperation is sometimes the cutest thing I've ever seen haha especially cute Graham. Don't worry, mama comforted him moments later. But not before I could snap a pic for memory sake!
Even though I took an unofficial "Maternity leave" for myself I obviously couldn't help but take pics of my newborn baby girl!! Meet Lily Miyoko Blasdell, named after my grandma who meant the world to me - Miyoko in Japanese means "Beautiful Sun Child" and I think it fits her perfectly already. I tell you what though, Kai has already fit nicely into the big brother position. While he may accidentally squeeze her too tight or unintentionally smother her while incessantly kissing her face, at least I know... albeit a little too close,.. he'll always be there for her and that simple truth melts me to my core!
This had to be one of my favorite bridal sessions ever. This location was one that I was saving for the PERFECT couple and I think I nailed it in deciding to have Ethan & Whitney here. Although it wasn't easy climbing up the slippery loose slate rock (especially in those heels!!) they were such troopers! And boy was it worth the climb because those views are unbelievable! We also got the drone flying to get some awesome Ariel video during this shoot (behind the scenes pics below) and even though my husband enjoyed flying it a little too close to my head a couple of times he about sliced off his nipple running the drone into into himself... (payback) but hey... its all about the shot #amiright So stoked for this pair to start their lives together on August 14!! So beyond obsessed with them already!!
Although nothing seemed to go right even minutes right up until the shoot, the moment Brennen saw Hanna for the first time in her gorgeous dress, those feelings immediately vanished. Couldn't be more humbled to have captured their special day, and the start of their lives together!
When the cute girl you used to babysit grows up, its like entering the twilight zone when she announces she's getting married! WHAT?! But within the first 2 minutes of meeting Ethan, I knew he was just perfect for her. And by the end, if anything was in the twilight zone, it was this ridiculously amazing location #amiright ????? So happy for these two and what their future children might look like :)
I have to say, this was my first Baptism photoshoot and I hope it won't be my last! Petra is seriously the sweetest 8 year old i've ever met, and obviously she's a woman after my own heart - climbing the cool "Land Before Time" trees on the temple grounds immediately after I jokingly suggested it to her mother (sorry!). But do we regret it? NOPE! (Hope that wasn't a bad life lesson I just taught...) #doitforthephoto.
But truly, I was honored to be able to photograph her to help commemorate such a special occasion that will be happening soon! Her parents better saddle up though, this girl is seriously gorgeous and good hearted, good luck keeping those boys away for 8 MORE years....
Oh the Coons... I think I may coin a new term, the "Coon Swoon" because I tell you what, this amazing family has trusted me with their pictures not once, but several times throughout the years and I can't help but swoon over each and every one. Every time. And this shoot, was no exception. The best part about this shoot was the improvisation of it all because the originally intended location had already lost all of its leaves! Panicking, I took a chance on a random exit and found this breathtaking quaint mountain road exploding with charm and color. So glad they were willing to be adventurous. The only thing missing was a hot chocolate truck, because baby it was cold!
For those of you who know my last name, you would be right in assuming that I am related to this darling Blasdell bunch! Gosh I love this family like you wouldn't believe! Also, you couldn't ask for a better fall setting near Parley Summit. I came back to this location just 4 days later, and all the leaves had already fallen off the trees! Which I guess I can believe considering how cold it was on this day! But these guys were champs (and,... it probably helped that my husband was acting as a coat hanger and professional blanket wrapper)
