I have to say, this was my first Baptism photoshoot and I hope it won't be my last! Petra is seriously the sweetest 8 year old i've ever met, and obviously she's a woman after my own heart - climbing the cool "Land Before Time" trees on the temple grounds immediately after I jokingly suggested it to her mother (sorry!). But do we regret it? NOPE! (Hope that wasn't a bad life lesson I just taught...) #doitforthephoto.
But truly, I was honored to be able to photograph her to help commemorate such a special occasion that will be happening soon! Her parents better saddle up though, this girl is seriously gorgeous and good hearted, good luck keeping those boys away for 8 MORE years....
Oh the Coons... I think I may coin a new term, the "Coon Swoon" because I tell you what, this amazing family has trusted me with their pictures not once, but several times throughout the years and I can't help but swoon over each and every one. Every time. And this shoot, was no exception. The best part about this shoot was the improvisation of it all because the originally intended location had already lost all of its leaves! Panicking, I took a chance on a random exit and found this breathtaking quaint mountain road exploding with charm and color. So glad they were willing to be adventurous. The only thing missing was a hot chocolate truck, because baby it was cold!
For those of you who know my last name, you would be right in assuming that I am related to this darling Blasdell bunch! Gosh I love this family like you wouldn't believe! Also, you couldn't ask for a better fall setting near Parley Summit. I came back to this location just 4 days later, and all the leaves had already fallen off the trees! Which I guess I can believe considering how cold it was on this day! But these guys were champs (and,... it probably helped that my husband was acting as a coat hanger and professional blanket wrapper)
Blahh! Seriously, I love this family so much! Not only is Nicole (mama bear of the family) the coolest chick ever, but look at her precious blue eyed family and tell me you aren't jealous! Sigh... my poor doomed children and my poop brown eyes....
This was a gorgeous fall session at the base of Mount Timp. We managed to do this session all before the kids (and my fingers) turned into icicles. But you would never know! They were champs and it sure paid off for one unforgettable location!
You know you are old when the little girls you used to babysit end up magically becomming teenagers... who in turn start to babysit YOUR kids. sigh... needless to say, I grew up with this family and love them to pieces! We took these pictures right here in Corner Canyon, which is the stunning backdrop to our neighborhood. Pretty fitting I would say.
Sage Brush truly is a horrible weed, most of the year it smells funny (ok... thats all year round) and looks drab. However something magical happens to sage brush in the fall... and that vibrant yellow and matte green became the perfect combination for a beautiful fall setting for the Bakers! Also... can we talk about how ridiculously good looking these two are together? When I got them alone towards the end I thought I was taking engagements... that was until I finally internalized the crying children in the background :) Love this family!
This little one is very close to my heart. Her parents, Tyson and Chanda are two of our closest friends and we have watched them struggle with infertility and complications for the last 6 years. There is no assortment of words that can describe the feeling of joy and love I know they feel, just as I do when I see this precious miracle that has come into their lives. Incredibly humbled to have captured some these moments for them.
The Welch Family. What a sweet family they are! It doesn't take long to realize that their little (and gorgeous may I add) girl, is their entire WORLD! And I don't blame them. She is the cutest thing ever! This was also one of the most easy going shoots I've had yet. I'd say if anyone stirred up emotion, I was the one to blame asking them to get adventurous with me and climb through a boulder field for the "perfect shot". But hey, like I reassured them in the moment, you'll thank me later... and I was right. IT WAS WORTH IT! But I am sorry for the bruised ankles... but lets be honest....a shoot with me isn't really a shoot with me until you get a little dirt on your shoes. #amiright
Ahh the Quigleys. While it may be true that Gina has quickly become my soul sista' in adventure and crime, she is also the most spectacular mother of two beautiful little angels (aka... gerber models. Amiright????) Photographing a close friends family portraits is always an honor but when they are this freakishly good looking, its almost like they are doing me a favor :) Love this Quigley bunch!
In the short time I got to know these two, I immediately adored them! Seriously, there is not a more fun loving pair such as the new Mr. and Mrs. Shields! Silly yet charming, giggly yet gorgeous, it truly was an honor to capture this special day for them!
